Rosen - What else? / Roses...
What else could I show you than roses in my garden blog at this time of the year? So not long chat but lets start. This English Rose here is Barbara Austin. She's got a wonderful fragrance but I'm sorry to say, that I'm not the only one who have recognized that and so she's got rather voracious visitors.
New in the Gwundergarden is Harlow Carr. I'm not yet satisfied with this little rose. It's shots are weak so I let it grow first in a pot to see if it will behave as wished.
You already know Penelope from former posts. But one can't get enough of her, so I just had to show her again to you. She's a real beauty and the fragrance is gorgeous.
Eglantyne needed about four years to become a bit stronger. But somehow I like her.
One of my darlings is Paul. Paul Noel is his full name. His fragrance you can smell everywhere in this part of the garden and he is full with flowers.
Leonardo Da Vinci. I like to compare him with a fashion doll: nice to look at but...not much more :o). Leo is really an eye catcher but he's got absolutely no fragrance. And a rose needs to smell gorgeous... at least for me.
Wild Eve is new in the Gwundergarten and I'm really wondering how wild she will behave in my garden. She's absolutely allowed to go wild :o).
Attention now, it's getting noble: May I introduce you to Duc de Guiche. Yes, a curtsy would be appropriate but don't worry if you can't because you will smell it in the high air anyway. I love his heart too. It's always good to show heart, isn't it?
And here his highness in all his beauty.
Our garden fence looks like this at the moment. I'm not sure whether this rose is Taunusblümchen or Tausendschön. I planted both at this fence and can't remember whatI planted where. Yes, I'm really getting older.
This is for the boys: Look closely what happens if you don't bring roses to your girlfriend. That's really a bad idea. She will completely ignore you and show you her cold shoulder. I met those two this morning in the garden.
Awakening in the Gwundergarten.
I wish you all a wonderful summer weekend with a little puddle always around to get a cool footbath.
Gehabt Euch Wohl und häbet Sorg / Take care
