This post should have become only a tulip post. But my other plants in the garden were a bit depressed about that, so I just had to make some photos of them too.
But let's start with the tulips because they are really the stars on the stage at the moment.
And please, don't ask the name of tulips I show you here. Because I know just one thing: I bought them all in the super market... none is from a garden center, or from abroad or else very special.
I used to plant expensive tulips at the begin of my garden career. But I learnt that mice make no difference between expensive or cheap bulbs... they munch all of them. So I choose now the cheap bulbs... I'm no deli for mice *tse*.
I love the tulips too when they wither on...
A bit tattered they look very artful, don't they? Especially when rain has put some special effects on them.
Okay, and now it is your turn dear other flowers... please don't feel discriminated. I guess this will be the last bloom of the ranunculus. Yes, I know, it doesn't look like a ranunculus, but it really is one... promised :o).
It's the first time I planted this anemone but not the last time for sure. Even when from all that foliages only one flower made its way up. One is better than none... you see, I'm getting a bit modest.
Yes, sometimes the garden can put one in chains :o).
I love Bluebells. One day I really would love to visit England at the Bluebell season. It must be wonderful to see those lovely garden and woodlands full of them.
Die hier auf den Fotos wachsen unter dem Zierapfelbaum, wo kein Rasenmäher hinkommt. Nur ein Teppich wird es wohl daraus nicht werden.
Well, I tried to grow a bluebell carpet in my garden too. But I made one significant mistake... I didn't tell hubby that our lawn isn't only lawn anymore and that there are some Bluebell Islands. Well, now they are mowed down. Those you see on the photos above grow under a malus spec., but I guess they won't grow to a big carpet.
Love and hate connects me with this ranunculus shrub. Okay, it's not its fault that it blooms in this horrible colour and that there are no white or rose shrubs of them available. BUT that it behaves that wild and tries to take over the whole garden, that's deffinitively its fault! And that's why I tear out every shot I see... grmpf!
The race has started: many of my roses have got buds now. I can't wait to see which of them is going to make the race this year. At the moment I would put my money on Munstead Wood.
Hurra! I guess my fig tree has survived...if not, it would have been intentional killing by me, because I didn't take him into the warm for the first time during the icy winter. However I wrapped in his pot thickly but I wasn't quite sure whether this would be enough for that southern guy.
Oh, yes, let me introduce you to Hugo. This fern (don't ask me what his real name is) looks so sweet... I always would love to caress him over his cute hairy head.
Noah sitting on our favourite tree. He loves it for climbing and just watching the birds from it and I love it because of its gnarled branches. It's just a hazelnut but for me it's the most beautiful tree in our garden.
Even after we had to saw most of the branches from our malus spec. because they were damaged from the heavy snow we had during last winter, it blooms vigorously. It's a very old tree that seems to be kept together only by the ivy.
And a last reference: Public Enemy Nr. 1 = The Box Tree Moth is on its way again in the region of Zürcher Oberland. If you want to fight against it, you should do it now. I for myself have decided not to use herbicide. If they munch all my boxes I will plant something different. I guess our gardens here in Switzerland have become a bit monoculture, it's hard to find a garden with out box and this sure won't help to get rid of this little guy.
Soderle, und es scheint als kröche mal wieder ein Sonnenstrahl durch die Wolken, daher mache ich mich nun raus auf Unkraut-Jagd. Habt ein genussvolles Muttertagswochenende.
It seems as if the sun finally find its way into the Gwundergarten, so I'm going to chase the weed. Have a lovely Mothers day!
En liebe Gruess
