Meine neue Liebe / My new love
When it comes to handbags, we girls are not really faithful, aren't we? One doesn't do the job, we need more of them, to change them ... I mean, they must fit to our style.
This one here, jumped yesterday out of my sewing machine. Yes, the sewing machine and I are best mates meanwhile, sometimes we have even a lovely chat at a cream tea.
But back to the topic of my "new love". I'm so happy with that bag and I promised her to be faithful for ever *cough* ... or let's say until I'll find new lovely fabrics :o). God, I'm really flighty, am I'
Typical man, my hubby asked: "But is it practical?" What for a question is that? Hmpf? Men! Of course this bag is practical. It's in the natur of a bag to be practical. Well, okay, this bag has no zipper and maybe, only maybe, it isn't the bag you would choose for a shopping tour in London, New York, Roma or Zurich (at least if you want to keep your purse, otherwise it's no problem). To be honest, if a thief would grab into my handbag and get the purse, he or she really would deserve it. In my handbag sometimes you will find as well a hammer, garden scissors, cord, batteries, gloves (which I forgot to take out after winter), fuses, water valves, beside all the other stuff like pencil, purse, handkerchiefs, sweets ... I guess I could continue that list forever and probably you understand why I'm wearing always big handbags. But those are all things a girl needs to survive in the wild.
But back to the topic, my new handbag :o). It is made of little treasures I collected while spending some girls day with my friends. Most of the fabrics I bought last Friday while having a girls day with Mrs Garten-Keramik, Mrs. Chacheli-Macheri and Mrs. Chillibean in the Home Shop. God, what a joyful day we spent: talking with friends, having a delicious breakfast, visiting that beautiful shop and afterwards sitting in a lovely street coffee and keep on chatting. What else could you want. Thanks for that unforgettable day!
Those beautiful ribbons and lace I bought during another girls day in Appenzell with an earlier work mate. When the seller asked me, what I plan to do with those lace and ribbons I didn' know by then, but now they found their destination. Thank you very much, Vreni, for that lovely day.
The pattern for the bag I found in this book. I saw the book when I was at the garden centre "Gräfin von Zeppelin" with my friend ... of course at another girls day. I couldn't forget the book and ordered it at home.
And this is how the handbag looks in original. Isn't it gorgeous?
And there are even more treasures to be found in this book.
I guess, I won't get bored to give them a try.
At the moment we've got craftsmen in our house and that's why I spend a lot of time at the sewing machine. There I won't bother anyone. Some new cherry pit cushions were made for my little shop.
And finally I finished two cushions filled with herbs for a good sleep.
Was die Handwerker in unserem Haus so treiben, von dem erzähl ich Euch ein anderes Mal.
Habt einen sonnigen Tag!
In the next post I'm going to tell you, what the craftsmen were doing in our home. Have a joyful day!
En liebe Gruess / Take care
