No, I haven't vanished between two pages in a book, as somebody has thought *LoL*. I was on a mission. My hubby and I were on an expedition to find the summer, who seemed to be lost... at least we didn't have here any this year. And I may declare now, that we found it. It hid in the Algarve, but who could blame it. To prove that we didn't fear any efforts or challenges, I show you some photos from the expedition.
Because we didn't want to take away somebody's campground, we were just content with this place *LoL*. Yes, it was a hard life.
Vila Mardise, die ich Euch übrigens sehr empfehlen kann. Alles war tiptop im Schuss und sauber. Und ist dieser Tisch und die Lampe nicht einfach ne Wucht? Ich konnte mich kaum trennen davon.
The Vila Mardise would have space for more than just my hubby and me, as you can see. Everything was clean and proper. The house was just a dream and I can really recommend it. I loved this table and the light above.
This was my office, where I worked at my manuscript "Ein Bett in Cornwall". I could get used to such an office :o).
The view from the terrace on the roof. Through the day, it is much to hot to stay there, but in the evenings it's gorgeous. I show you later on some photos from sunset.
(und das sage ich als Fan des Nordens ... sagt das bloss nicht meinem Liebsten, sonst will der nächstes Jahr wieder in den Süden)
Yes, this was just for us :o). You can see how hard our life was on this expedition. However, I guess it was worth it (and this I say as an absolute fan of the North... don't tell my hubby, because I'd like to travel to Wales next year and not again somewhere south)
Watchdog of the house.
"Ich, weiss, Granny." Darf ich Euch vorstellen, das ist Granny. Die Mietze gehört nicht zur Vila und ich hätte sie, laut Vermieterin, verjagen sollen, doch ehrlich, ich wäre wohl nicht ich, hätte ich das gekonnt. Die alte Dame hatte einen geschwollenen Pfotenballen, ein leicht angesengtes Öhrchen, ein paar Mitbewohner im Pelz und ein Loch im Magen.
"I'm better as a watchcat."
"Yes, I know, Granny." May I introduce you to Granny? The cat lives around the Vila and the owner asked us to chase her away. As you know me meanwhile I sure didn't do that. The old cat lady had a swollen paw and was sunburnt at one of her ears. In her fur she had several flatmates :o) and in her tommy seemed to be a big hole.
For at least one week she had her peace. As a typical tourist I fed her and cuddled her, she was so grateful, indeed. I hope the next tenants will take care of her too. Somehow she seemed to belong to the Vila Mardise, then if we hadn't had an eye on her, she would have walked into the house as if it belonged to her. However, what else did we found in the Algarve beside cats?
Empty motorways from which we can only dream of here in Switzerland.
Seagulls, I can't get enough from their sound. It belongs to the sea like the salt in the water.
Ehm ... fishermen in their boats.
Bougainvillea: For me those are the roses of the south.
Want a refreshment?
Beaches you can only dream of.
And with those first photographic evidences that summer really does exist somewhere on this world, I say goodbye for today. Some more photos will follow soon. Have a lovely Sunday.
En liebe Gruess / Take care.
