Das Paradies liegt in England / Paradise is in England
In Herefordshire, close to the Welsh Border, to be precise. I know, I know, this may sound a bit exaggerated, but if you love animals and if you are looking for peace and quite, you couldn't find a better place than at the Bumble Bee Barn from Judy and Collin.
The converted barn was beautiful decorated and we felt immediately at home.
Yes... LoL... and even my beloved bathtub with lion feet wasn't missing.
The weather was very kind with us, so that we could use this gorgeous terrace everyday. Only once it was a bit too fresh to sit outside.
In the morning, the girls were already waiting for us... or should I say for their second breakfast :o).
Hehe, they kept a close eye on us.
But we loved their gentle cackling and we already miss it.
Isn't that a lovely view?
On the farm there are ten dogs living, but all (except one, who you will meet later on in this post) small size and very friendly. You don't hear or see much of them. Only this sweetie and...
... this little sun worshiper showed up sometimes and enjoyed being cuddled.
Attention, we get visitors. It was really funny to watch the runner ducks, who sometimes walked by softly quacking, when they went together on a short trip over the plot.
Hihi, aren't those pigs cute?
As soon as they spotted me at the fence they came running along and enjoyed some pats.
Collins proud: his Herefordshire cattles.
This herd belongs to the farm as well.
Relaxed Stan and I became immediately friends... he absolutely loved it, to be snuggled ... so he was my snuggling pony :o). Stan of course isn't a pony... no...
I guess, he would pull a face if he could hear what I just wrote.
He's a real handsome guy with beautiful boots.
Of course, you have already guessed it: Stan is a gorgeous Shire Horse. I would have loved to take him home, but I guess that would have brought me in serious trouble with the couple and their kids.
But there are downsides in the paradise as well: This was all that was left from one of the guinea fowls. The rest was an early diner for a fox. We saw him in the afternoon chasing a chicken, which we could save by chasing him away, but it seems as if he had returned later on. Sadly for the guinea fowl.
But back to more beautiful things: A special treat for me was, that Judy allowed me to make pictures from her lovely private garden. Come with me and have a look:
Oh and this furball that got into the photo, is the dog I mentioned before. The only one that is a bit bigger than the others but friendly as well.
By the way, Collin built all those walls by himself. I asked him, where he did learn that skill. "Oh, I just did it", he said. "We have enough stones here. The only thing we're missing is time." Well, that problem sounds somehow familiar to me.
Jetzt nehm ich Euch noch mit über die Felder zum Pub, das nur 15 Minuten zu Fuss entfernt ist: Das Bridge Inn.
It's a dream, isn't it? However, now let's walk down the hill, over the meadows to the Pub, that is only 15 minutes away: The Bridge Inn.
We did not just love the ale and Cider, no the food was great too. The Pub lays very idylic at a little river and tables invite guests to sit outside. It was funny, how we were immediately spotted as the "new" in the village. It didn't last long until a man stood at our side to ask where we came from and where we were staying. You easily get in talk with people, that's completely different from here in Switzerland. I liked it.
Those two were residents from the Pub.
hier tun.
If you are know interested to rent the barn for your own Holidays, you can do it here. Hmm.. not sure I should have shown this to you, because we want to return at this lovely place by ourselves ... rather yesterday than tomorrow.
Judy and Collin: let me send you big thanks for that unforgettable time and the cake, which was so delicious! You really did create a paradise and we know for sure how much work and heartblood is in that plot. We will return, that is for sure. My hubby wants to see the spitfire barn ;o). Take care.
Habt alle einen schönen Sonntag und beim nächsten Mal geht's dann in den ersten öffentlichen Garten
Have all a lovely Sunday and the next time I'm gonna show you the first public garden.
