Herbstausflug / Fall trip
Now or never was our motto yesterday. We took advantage of the rain delay to make at least one trip in our fall vacations.
We drove with the car to the Lake Constance and unpacked there our bikes... okay, maybe I should confess that my hubby unpacked them and I stood decoratively beside him.
We started in the picturesque village Gottlieben. It's such a beautiful little village but unfortunately my camera was stowed deep in the backpack. But if you like to have a glimpse into this village, click here.
We drove on little ways along the Untersee to...
Yes I know, it's very touristic. But isn't it just lovely to look at with all the painted facade? I just love it.
From Stein am Rhein we drove on to Radolfszell. Uuuuuuh, I was rather fit in Stein am Rhein but suddenly I became more and more exhausted and it seemed as if Radolfszell would never come closer. I have to admit that my motto is "Sport is murder" and I'm rather out of shape. So when suggesting this trip to my hubby I rather thought it to be a cozy little cycling tour but when my hubby said, that if we didn't hurry up a bit we would miss the ship from Radolfszell to the other side of the lake and that we would have to cycle 20 Kilometers on if that happens... well, I guess, you can imagine, that I tramped much quicker into the pedals.
So with that kind of energy shot we reached Radolfszell at time and even found a wonderful place to rest a while.
Yes, little bikes, just stay there for a while. Even with my silicon bike saddle (in my age I really don't need a hurting bottom so I decided to by this little sofa which I can only recommend) my butt thought 45 Kilometers more than enough... at least for the moment.
And because of my dear butt I walked over to the booking office to get some tickets for the ship. But unfortunately there worked a very unkindly man. I asked him very kindly in German (of course with a big Swiss German accent) whether we were allowed to take our bikes on to the ship. I admit that if not, I would have thrown all bad feelings over Bord and would have left my bike all alone back in Germany. But guess what this unfriendly man said to me: "You may take your bike with you on the boat if you stop immediately talking German. I can't hear anymore Swiss people talking German. You're accent is horrible." Isn't that a sweetie?! Well at least I tried to be nice to my counterpart and tried to speak its language. However, if this guy hadn't been behind a desk I really would have loved to kick him into his shin. What a lout!!!
But never mind this lout, it was very comfortable to chuck across the sea. And we were very lucky too, because it was the last day of the season the ships were sailing.
It was a lovely trip, even when we froze terribly and just managed at home to get into a hot tube and put a frozen pizza into the oven before collapsing onto the coach. I will never forget the lovely pictures of colorful trees, flock of birds and the lovely houses at the lakeside. The autumn air was wonderful and the whole trip was worth every soreness.
Habt einen guten Start in die neue Woche! / Have a good start into the new week!
