As I mentioned in another post before, this red hazelnut shrub had to move (it's an old photo but the white arrow shows you which shrub I mean). Because I'm not really suberstitious I picked Friday the 13th as the day to dig it out. I cut down all the branches and started then to dig it out with pickaxe and spade. I had already half of it removed when I started to dream of a relaxing bath, so I just hit with force on this stupid root stalk. Guess what happened? This silly root stalk hit me back :o). The pickaxe just rebounded and landed under my chin. Well, I now can feel with Tom and Jerry, when Tom gets a pan on his head and sees birdies buzzing around his head. I first had to sit down because I felt rather sick. But finally in the house I checked in the mirror, if nothing is missing at my head.. well, there was just a wound. But because my jaw was hurting badly I decided to just take a cold flannel and lay a moment down. Hubby meant I should show it to a doc, so he drove me there, but luckily it hadn't to be sewn.
The jaw still hurts today and I find it rather unkind that not even munching a cookie is fun anymore. However, the whole story proves, that Friday the 13th is a lucky day... because it could have ended worse and so I've only got a scratch. But it's a bit mortifying to have nearly knocked me out by myself... well at least not in the first bout :o). If you believe in plants can't fight back, you're completely wrong... my hazelnut is stronger than Rocky Balboa :o).
und dem Haselnuss-Strauch den Todesstoss verpasst.
My hubby took revenge and killed finally the Hazelnut Shrub.
Jetzt ist er Geschichte...
It's history now...
... and I've got more space for new plants.
I just bought this Hydrangea aspera "Late Love", which will move into the new space.
And this is how it looks when the bud has opened and shows its flowers.
And also I'm going to plant this Hydrangea Macrophylla "Schloss Wackerbarth". I've never seen such a colour at a Hydrangea... isn't it a beauty?
Before our Scotland holidays I went with Linth-Lady into the shop Zaubertor, where I ordered two signs for my garden. I just love this shop and could right move in :o). There Cappuccino is absolutely great.
On the sign is written "Forbade snails"... I hope they can read and will follow this order.
Was gibt es Schöneres! Danke Dir nochmals für diesen tollen Tag und...
Last Monday I met my friend Chacheli-Macheri and we just enjoyed a day for the soul. We visited a garden center and the city Aarau. Of course we didn't go home with empy bags and we went from one coffe shop to the next. It was so much fun to chatter and laugh along! Thank you very much, Caro!
And thanks too for those lovely two Baby Boos you chrochet for me. They are so cute!
Yammi, and then she brought me this delicious jam... as you can see I couldn't hold on me and just had to try it. It's a dream, thank you so much!
Those lovely garden gloves I bought in the garden centre because I'm really fed up with scratching my arms by those stupid bramble berries and the less stupid rambler roses. I just show you them now, because they will never look that clean again. I've got a talent in destroying gloves.
Gartenfee doch so "gluschtig" gemacht hat mit ihrem Post über die Dahlien. Bin gespannt, ob ich es hinkriege, Sämchen von ihr zu gewinnen und ob danach wirklich was draus wird.
And this dahlia just came along with me from the garden centre. In one of Gartenfees posts, she really made me want some Dahlias too. I'm wondering whether I'm able to get the seeds from it and what will become of them.
There is still a lot in bloom in my garden.
The roses are probably showing for the last time this year, how beautiful they are.
But the stars in my garden are at the moment the Fuchsia. This one is a hardy one, but don't ask me its name, I would have to search for it.
And of course it is the time of the Anemone hupehensis.
And... it is the time when Noah preferes a warm bed instead of the cold night outside. Who could blame him.
Habt ein kuscheliges Wochenende. / Have a lovely weekend.
