Knockderry Country House Hotel war unsere jeweilige Zwischenlandung auf dem Weg zwischen Flughafen und Cottage.
Now I do something I usually don't do in this blog: promotion. But it was so great and I don't want to be mean and keep it all as a secret place for myself. We booked Knockderry Country House Hotell as a stop between the airport and our cottage when we arrived and when we had to leave again. The way up to the Highlands would have been too much after the flight.
When we arrived from Glasgow they gave us this romantic poster bed room.
A bathtube with little feet! I absolutely adore them and of course I didn't waste any time and jumped immediately in. After a flight just the right thing to do. Unfortunately our second room, when we came back from the Highlands, didn't have such a lovely feature.
Room with a view.
In this Hotel you just feel like in another epoch. It's just beautiful and everything slows a bit down. Very relaxing, indeed. And the food was excellent (I confess, that I did never say this before ... sorry... but English food wasn't really my thing :o) until yet ) . If you are a sweetie you should try the desert "Three of chocolats", it's just fabulous.
The sea is only a few steps from the hotel. And there is lots to see and explore in this area, many castles and gardens aren't far away. But because we were just in transit, we unfortunatley didn't have the time to visit them.
The stones at the shore had a special shape... just the right to let them hop over the water. Felt like a child but it was fun. Hope no fish has got now a headache.
On our return trip we got this lovely room, with a very big and comfortable bed. The only negativ thing was, that the walls seemed to be thinner there. Sometimes you had the feeling, that your room neighbors were in the same room :o). But for one night we didn't mind.
But it wasn't only the beautiful style of the hotel, the cozy bar or the lovely view that made this place special. No, it was the staff who marks up this house. We felt warmly welcomed and were happy and grateful that they were so patient with us, while we had some troubles in understanding their Scottish Accent *LoL*. But it really isn't easy at all, especially when English isn't your mother tongue and when they are speaking rather quick. Sometimes I must have looked at them like a big question mark :o).
Weiter geht's im nächsten Post mit "Escape to the Country". Ich hoffe, Ihr seit wieder mit dabei und sitzt in der ersten Reihe.
Next time is about an "Escape to the Country". I hope you will join me again and find a place in the first row.
