Smile, no, this isn't the sound of a New Years marching music or a jammed wheel in Mrs. Gwundergartens crazy mind. Ratata... that's the way it sounds in the Gwundergarten home at the moment, because the sewing machine rattles nearly all day. I'm doing some preparations for the spring market in Russikon. And because I'm not the fastest at the sewing machine and because I've got a little job beside my hobbies, I have to start early.
And so one shopping bag after the other is jumping out of my sewing machine.
I always wanted to try out sewing those little bags, and this was my first try.
Looks like I became braver, but that was only because I had to open the seam again and oilcloth doesn't forgive that. So I just sewed some sweet laces beside the zipper.
Then I tried out different sizes. The small one is really small, just 9 cm high and probably just big enough as a purse or for some lipsticks... who knows, what it will be really used for at the end.
Some weeks ago I bought in a little shop a cloth for the breadbasket... well, it is from a well known label, which I better don't name here, else probably a lawyer will knock at my door :o). But it wasn't cheap at all. However, look at this seam! My handwork teacher at school wouldn't have been amused, I guess, if I had done such a sloppy work.
So I said to myself: Girl, this you can do a little bit better. And here it is, my first breadbasket cloth.
Here a close up.
From the left over fabric I made this hairband. I guess, the big labels could learn one thing from us small craft girls: Made with love everything becomes a bit nicer, doesn't it?
Herzlichen Dank Euch allen noch für die lieben Neujahrswünsche im letzten Post. Ich habe mich sehr darüber gefreut. Habt nun alle ein schönes erstes 2014 Wochenende.
Thank you all for the lovely wishes and comments to my last post. I really enjoyed every one of it. Have a great first 2014 weekend!
