Nein, keine Krankheit... eher eine Sucht :o), der ich neuerdings verfallen bin. Früher konnte ich mit Astern nichts anfangen, aber jetzt finde ich, sie eigenen sich perfekt als Lückenfüller.
No, that's not a disease... more something like an obsession :o). When I started to garden, I didn't like the autumn asters, but now I find that they are something like the perfect gap fillers.
There are so many different kinds of them. This one here is the aster divaricatus, which is very hardy and happily grows in the shade.
But lets go to the main aster border. A shy view from the terrace, the aster border will appear on the right side.
Here we come a bit closer.
And finally here it is.
Well, of course one has to tie up the bigger kind of asters (and one could probably do it better than I did... but for my excuse I have to say, that it was raining in the morning and the asters had to carry a heavy load).
There are very high asters and...
... small asters...
... and in different shade of colors.
Ups, sorry about that... those are definitely no asters, but the tomatoes decided to grow among them. I didn't expect that they would get ripe in time but it seems that I was wrong.
Now only the rose and the clematis have to take over the rose arch, then I'm happy with this part of the garden. Next spring I will plant even more asters to fill some gaps, although I will have to fight hard against the slugs, who love them too.
Sometimes the trees around our terrace are threatening.. soon they will take over the terrace, grow over our house and keep us locked inside. We won't be able to go to work or to buy food, they will keep us as prisoners... sorry...too much fantasy, I guess.
Talking about fantasy: Now I can tell you why I was dancing and singing around like Pippi during one of my last posts. My book "Ein Bett in Cornwall" (A bed in Cornwall) will be published in November as an Ebook by the publishing house Forever from Ullstein. Gosh, I'm nervous and full of joy at the same time. At the moment they are working at the cover and a proofread is hunting for the last grammar mistakes in it. Quite exciting the whole stuff.
And with that news, I vanish into the weekend and wish you a great time.
En liebe Gruess / Take care
