Frühaufsteher und Spätzünder / Early risers and late bloomer
I meant to show you today the most lovely WC I ever saw, but it came different. I walked through my garden and just had to tell you about the early risers and late bloomers. So the WC post will follow later, but now slip into your boots, take a cup of tea with you and follow me into the Gwundergarten:
If you believe in December gardens appear in brown in brown, you're completely wrong. All photos were made today. This firework of color is from the hydrangea Hobergine.
And this is how it looks from a bit distance. Somehow it remembers me on a big fire in the mountains during a summer night.
Wilde Eve hasn't gone to sleep yet.
You can still find splashes of color everywhere, but you have to look a bit closer.
My digitalis seems to be a late bloomer.
A snowflake has fallen on the little rose hip from rose multiflora. Well, you need magnifying glasses to see it, but it's there.
Emma endures the lousy weather. Somehow she reminds me on a curling stone ... only the handle is missing. Sorry, my dear, you know, how much I love you :o).
But back to the garden: He's still green, well, at least at some points. Here with Hebe. Since buxus has become such a wimp, I discovered different kinds of Hebe. But some of them are not very hardy, you have to check this first. This one here, has already survived some of our winters.
Rose Tea Clipper is really a late bloomer. I expected it to bloom with the asters, but they are long gone meanwhile.
Rose Leonardo da Vinci is also still in flower, as well as...
... princess Anne, this old swot.
Jingle Bells in a different way. This is hardy fuchsia, that bloomed really late, but who cares. I mean, who has fuchsia in the middle of december?!
But I was really stunned, when I saw this helleborus (it's not one that was spoiled and growing in a nursery ... it's one that grows since quite a long time in my garden). Girl, sorry, but you must be completely wrong! Christmas and not spring is standing in front of our garden fence. You're really an early riser and I don't want to see tears, when snow appears.
If you believe, that in my garden everything is still green and blooming, so let me show you this picture that shows the truth and nothing else than the truth. It's chaotic in my garden, and the color brown is everywhere ... I can't deny it ... but, as I said before, there are still some splashes of color, you have only to look out for them.
And with the lovely rose Fallstaff I wish you all a happy Santa Claus day. By the way, are you as afraid as I am of this guy? I do cross the road when I see one getting closer... well, you may think now that I must feel guilty. But no, this isn't the reason. Men that hide behind a beard, wear red coats and have fun in telling others about their sins... are somehow suspicious... I prefer the Easter bunny, indeed).
Häbet's guet u en liebe Gruess
Have a great day and take care
