Yes, there were some rather well known faces to be seen at the Chelsea. Like TV presenter Nicki Chapman, at work for BBC, or ...
... Monty Don, who just had a break behind the bambus.
But I'm sure the TV presenters won't mind if I write that the real stars at the Chelsea were the flowers. So this post is about them.
Those Columbines look very cute, don't you think so? Since about two years they are growing in my garden too... love it.
Honestly, in the growers tent the flowers were a bit man-made presented, but also very artfully. I was stunned by the quantity and the variety.
I took the label onto the picture so that I don't forget, which plant I have to write on my wishlist.
I loved Claire Austins Iris. As I said to her, that it was a pity I haven't got more sunny places in my garden to have more Iris, she said, that there is an Iris for every garden and for every time in the year. That is good news, isn't it? I have to get more information about that.
Big sigh, but this one does need a lot of sun, else I would have just bought it.
Oh ... I must be in paradise! Roses wherever I look.
Well, I guess this lady has stayed a little while in this paradise, because there were already some cobwebs at her body (click the photo big to see it).
Yes, this one is on my wishlist too.
At some point... much later... I feared to get cobwebs too and so I moved on.
Columbine and some kind of Veronicas (I forgot their name).
Would you like a little concert? Well, that could be a bit difficult with all those lovely Agapanthus in the instruments.
Peonies... one can't have enough of them in the garden.
But even the sweet little pansy found its great stage. And that's all from the flowers at the Chelsea, next time its more about artworks.
Keep fingers crossed that the rain continues today. It's our national celebration day and Noah fears those fireworks (his place under the sofa is ready for him), not to mention what the wild creatures thinks about it. It's sad that humans need so much noise and can't just enjoy sitting around a lovely big fire. Have a great weekend.
En liebe Gruess / Take care
