Girls just want to have fun (Cindy Lauper was so right) and therefore I was in desperate need of a girls day. My friends Ida from the blog Gartenkeramik and Caro from the blog Chacheli-Macheri joined me on a trip to the Landhaus Ettenbühl and the nursery of Gräfin von Zeppelin in Germany.
Auch im Landhaus Ettenbühl haben ein paar wenige Iris geblüht (ich bin ja noch immer auf Iris-Fotojagd)... die Rosen hingegen noch nicht.
In the Landhaus Ettenbühl some Iris were in flower (I'm still in need of photos for my article)... but unfortunately it was a little bit too early for the roses.
But I guess that was the reason why we could enjoy the garden without masses of people.
But somebody does always stand in your way *hihi*.
This English garden is so beautiful, even without the fragrance and the color of the roses.
Besonders fasziniert hat mich aber der Taschentuchbaum. Es sah aus, als würden tatsächlich hunderte von Taschentücher von den Ästen des Baumes hängen.
I was very attracted by this tree. It's a Davidia involucrata or commonly known as handkerchief tree. It really looked as if hundred of hankies were hanging from this tree. Stunning.
My hankies don't look so lovely when they are used :o).
Just beautiful, isn't it? After a delicious tea time with scones (oh, how I missed it) we went on to the nursery from Gräfin von Zeppelin.
What a pitty, I was still to early to see the lovely Iris sibirica "Flight of Butterfly" in flower.
But all the Iris Barbata showed their beauty.
This girls day was a real treat and full of sunshine, like this Iris "Echo de France". Thank you so much Ida and Caro for having joined me on this trip.
And if you believe that I have bought as many plants as I could get into my car, then I really don't know why you got to such an idea *LoL*. I behaved really well, indeed, and bought just this beautiful yellow Aquilegia and ... okay I confess it: a little rose.
I should know, that I shouldn't put my nose into rose flowers, because then the inevitable happens. But Stan just wrapped me around his really strong thorns and spread his fragrance from far away. How clever was that and how could I ever have resisted?! But he won't get big and therefore I took Stan with me, so that he can spread his lovely fragrance on our terrace. However, his real name is Stanwell Perpetual, but we are close friends (by blood :o)... my blood) meanwhile and so I may call him Stan, he said.
Während ich weg war, hat der Rote natürlich alles genau im Blick behalten.
While I was away, my little red one had everything under control.
Meine beiden Häschen wünschen Euch einen schmackhaften vegetarischen Sonntagsbraten und einen guten Start in die neue Woche.
My bunnies wish you all a lovely day with a good vegetarian Sunday roast *smile*. Have a good start into the new week.
Alles Liebe / Take care
