Okay, let's start our journey with the cottage. Smile, no, this wasn't our cottage. This is Belchamp Hall to which our cottage did belong. But to get there ...
... we had to drive further on, on this lovely lane.
No, this would be much to big for two person, but it was the neighbour's house. Lovely, isn't it? I would move in, immediately.
Ach, Mensch, seid Ihr mal wieder neugierig!
Tatataaaaa... but this is it! The one at the left and it is called Lovejoys Mill. We were told, that there had been filmed a TV serie by BBC. However, I'm sure you want to have a peek inside, curious as you are :o).
It's an upside down living house. One sleeps downstairs, while the living accomodation is upstairs. With the lovely view around the cottage that makes sence. The view from the bed I showed you earlier, but ...
... one can't get enough of it, right?
The kitchen... I just loved it, but my hubby wasn't so keen about it. He thinks practical while I just listen to my heart. I mean, look at that Belfast sink and all that wood! I would have loved to take this big range cooker home with me, but I guess the owner and the Airline wouldn't have appreciated it... and it would fill my own small kitchen by itself.
And again there were those gorgeous barn doors, that made you feel as if you were cooking outside. It was so light and airy.
I bet this stove will make a cozy living room in autumn or even winter.
We put the table just in front of another barn door, so that we could enjoy the lovely view while dining.
Fasane und ...
So while eating we were watching pheasants ...
... and a blue shimmering kingfisher catching his own breakfast.
Also, falls irgendwer helfen kann, bitte melden.
The decor was simple but stylish ... absolutely to my taste. I tried to find out the name of the artist of this painting, but couldn't read the signature properly, nore did I find something in the internet. So if you know it, that would be great. I loved the colors and the scenery... so beautiful.
Often I had admired the window seats in English Houses. I always wanted to read or write on it. But well, after a while I found out, that not every dream is very comfortable *LoL*.
When I saw this paddock, I immediately knew that this would become perfect holidays for me. And my hubby had a smile in his face too, because he knew, I would leave him in peace and let him enjoy a second cup of coffee before urging him to go anywhere. (I know, I can be a terrible nuisance)
This little lady, a Muli (not a donkey) had his mates well under control. They told me she would bite ... but she just smiled and said this is a bad rumor. Okay, I watched my fingers anyway. But she was really a funny and lovely girl.
The three of them had three very big paddocks. An absolut paradise for horses ...
... and bunnies. One could watch them mainly at dawn and dusk.
This White Wagtail has found it's one and only love in our...
... rented car. It didn't care which way we parked the car ...
... it never left it alone. I bet it never had seen before such a big, big White Wagtail :o). It did not only sit on the windscreen, no, the sideview mirror or the rooftop was comfortable as well. I bet it is very heartbroken now, because its big love has left him all alone.
In the pond their were ducks with their ducklings and moorhens with their youngsters. The grey heron often came by as well... there was just always something to see... and to listen. There were many pigeons cooing.
In the evenings we sometimes went on a short walk that lead to a very old church as well.
Well, I'm not sure, that this oven really is able to heat the church cozy and warm in winter times, to be honest... but it looks interesting.
Old is not only the oven, but the walls as well. I bet they could tell many stories.
Next time, I'll take you on a hike... please, make sure to wear comfortable shoes... it may take a while :o)
