Actually I wanted to post more about our trip to Scotland but something "small" has fallen between. Isn't that a great boys toy? Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to play with it (well, of course I didn't dare to ask at all).
Probably it was better that they didn't let me try it out. However, this big thing arrived with two other trucks very early in the morning infront of our house.
Some trees were grown too big and too close to the house in our and in the garden of our neighbors. It was time, that we did something against that. So now, I do belong to the tree murderers... but some things just have to be done.
My hubby and I watched with big eyes how the crane was built up.
And a neighbor told us, that her children were never so quick with getting up when they heard about the crane. Well, it's a bit an expensive way to wake up the kids *LoL*.
The crane was moved in the direction of the ash-tree.
For once the title wasn't "Gorillas in the mist" but "Professionals in the mist".
Those guys have a rather dangerous...
... and exhausting job. I wouldn't want to change it with my job, really. Last year I had the chance to glance into that job during a workshop and since then I highly respect what those guys were doing... even when I only could see a small bit of it.
Bit for bit the tree was moved with the crane...
... and finally ended on our small way, where it will be sliced in pieces to make firewood.
What couldn't be used proberly as firewood, was placed on a truck to be moved away later on.
After that, two strangly grown firs had to be cut down (or lift away :o) ) too.
That was much easier, because they weren't as big as the ash-tree from our neighbors.
It's real fun to watch others working.
Oh, please, don't let it fall down. It isn't the season for open roofs.
A lot of hands were needed. Thanks to all the guys from the FällAG, you did a great job!
On the way to work :o).
"They have stolen my tree."
"But, I've got something to gnaw at... just love it." Well, you can't do it for everyone right.
Ach, Ihr möchtet noch Vorher-Nachher-Fotos? Okay.
Oh, you'd like to see photos from before and after? Okay.
Vorher / Before
Nachher / After
Vorher aus Sicht des Gartens
Befor from the sight out of the garden.
Nachher aus Sicht des Gartens
After from the sight out of the garden.
Also after, but closer... I will have to get used to that hole, but I guess untill next summer it will be grown together again.
Vorher von aussen.
Before from outside the garden.
Nachher von aussen.
After from outside the garden.
All in all it is more airy now... even when I have to get used to some holes but at least I don't have to be afraid anymore from deep flying trees :o).
Oktober.
Next weekend I will continue with a Scottish garden until then I wish you all a lovely time.
