As a lovely tradition my hubby and I invite every year our families to a Easter brunch. And as every year it went over much too quickly with much too much food. Today I let you glimpse a little bit behind the scenes.
I always do the bake stuff the day before the brunch.
What leads to a big chaos in my much too small kitchen.
And this guy here doesn't help much in keeping a tidy kitchen.
"Why can't you eat out from your bowl like every other normal cat? Get out of the kitchen, Noah!"
A glimpse through the kitchen window shows me, that we have to work on Noah's hunt technique.
"Don't always nag on me, Mrs Gwundergarten. I'm not in your kitchen and I'll find my food by myself."
"Nö, können sie nicht, ich seh sie schliesslich ja auch nicht."
"Mach halt die Augen auf..."
"Alright, Noah. I only wanted to tell you, that the birds can see you... your camouflage isn't very good, indeed. " "No, they can't see me, because I can see them neither."
"Ehm...just open the eyes..."
Then I take this one, at least it won't fly away.
"Das täuscht, Herr von Sumpfmeiserich. Wie gesagt, alles Tarnung."
"Mrs. Gwundergarten your tomcat isn't a very celver one, isn't he?"
"He's just pretending, Mr. Marsh Tit...that belongs all to his camouflage."
In der Backstube werden nach und nach Brot, Kuchen und...
In the bakery bread, cake and...
...muffins got finished. Oh, you think that one is missing? Well, I can't serve the muffins to the guests, without having tasted them by myself, can I?!
Würstchen im österlichen Teigmantel. (Na, Caro, erkennst Du das Sujet ;o) )
Sausages in a Easter crust.
There's a lot of action going on outside the kitchen window, as soon as Noah has vanished.
"Aber hallo, woher denkt Ihr kommt denn das Futterhäuschen?"
"Hey, the woman is making photos from us! Lady, this doesn't work, we only pose for a wage."
"Come on, guys... where do you think comes the feeding station from?"
I had no chance to change their mind, so I took care of the table decoration. And as you can see, we expected the one or other guest *smile"... we have used every space of our living room.
Finally Easter arrived and the weather was kind to me and the girls so that...
... so that they could search the Easter bunnies in the garden.
Yes, and even Noah joined us... I couldn't believe my eyes...
This was the shyest tomcat on the world, who didn't let himself touch from anyone else than hubby or me. Well, Luna is a very clever girl and chose a wise way. When she came closer she told Noah: "I'm kind." And this was the result. Well done, Luna (and I'm very proud of you too, Noah)!
And then it made "Wush"... and Easter became history. We had some rain during the night and of course Noah and I had to go immediately into the garden.
...hoppp! Making photos from moving subjects is an impossible thing for me. I have to practice more. Can you please move slowly, Noah?
(Ich komm mir vor wie eine Schnecke, aber das sagen wir Frau Gwundergarten besser nicht) - "Ähm, ja, das krieg ich gerade noch hin."
"It that fine for you?" (I feel like a slug but I better don't mention this to Mrs Gwundergarten) - "Yes, that's the way I can handle it."
Graffitis are out, in are now scratchiti.
As you may have noticed I finally got my camera back from the repair. But somehow I'm struggling since then with the exposure time. Somehow the photos from Noah have a yellowishness... I really have to practice more with my camera... it has much to many buttons for an amateur like me.
This photo could wear the name "The Beauty and the Beast" (but I do love this beast too, really).
Have a nice short week!
