Regentropfen und mehr / Rain drops and more
It is snails weather. But hey, nature really needed some rainy days and we can use the spare time in other ways. For example for a ladies day.
Off we go! I took out my girlish arm warmers...
Yes, I know, I could have made this photo with a tripod, but with some dislocations it worked as well. That's how the arm warmers look when worn... oh, and please just be kind and overlook that my knitting isn't evenly. Hmm... where have we stopped? Oh, yes, take out your girlish clothes, take your friend, make a prayer to the sky and...
... make a trip to the gardencenter of the "Gräfin von Zeppelin" in Germany.
I don't know how Caro and I do this, but everytime when we plan outdoor things we are so lucky that whenever we walk outside, the weather is dry. It rained the whole day, really, but as soon as we walked into the garden centre it stopped. We didn't even need an umbrella. I even thought about making a business out of this by renting Caro and me for outdoor events. But I don't want to overburden our luck :o)...
Ganz ehrlich!
I'm honest... I only took one David Austin rose home, really! I'm quite a bit proud of that, it's a first success against my obsession.
And this is all I took home for my shady border. Well, okay, the poppy "Pattys Plum" will receive a place in the sun of course. But I was looking for so long for that kind of poppy that I couldn't have left it behind.
Caro, thank you so much for that lovely girlsday! It was so much fun again with you... even when we had some problems in finding our way back home to Switzerland :o).
But now back into the Gwundergarten. Everything is still a bit wet even when the sun has blinked through the clouds for some short moments.
"Gleich, Noah.
"Hey, Mrs. Gwundergarten, do you come out playing with me?"
"In a minute, Noah. I guess you won't help me cleaning the shower, will you?"
"No, you're right I won't. Hurry up, I'm waiting."
Done! And now let's go out to Noah.
"Ah, at long last you're here! You needed quite a while for that little shower."
Did I ever mentioned that Noah can be a real pain in the neck?
"Hurra! Off we go, Mrs. Gwundergarten."
I say "Hurra" too, but only because at long last I found out how I can make proper pictures from Noah in motions. This will give me completely new options. Great!
No, that's not a Grizzly in the Gwundergarten. Only our head gardener checking the tree.
Okay, this branch will hold it's of very good quality, indeed.
"Träum weiter, Kleiner."
"Yes, you're right, but you could clean it. After having cleaned the shower you should know how this works."
"Dream on, sweetheart."
A death-defying leap... huaaaah, I can't watch it.
"Pffft... not everybody is able to fly."
"Shut your mouth, Mr. Woodpecker. You can't think clear, after headbanging constantly against wood."
"Noah! Lass den Specht in Ruh."
This woodpecker really looks delicious, would make a fine little snack, I guess.
"Noah! Leave that woodpecker in peace for god's sake."
Pffft... I'm not allowed to do anything that makes fun. Now you can walk through the garden on your own. I'm fed up.
Well, you're never alone in my garden. Somehow I feel a bit observed.
The slug seems to find this weather to cry for. That's what I call a big tear.
Some look pretty battered.
It's not very kind that the weather changed into rain just at the time when the tree peonies start to bloom. Grmpf.
Maybe this one will last a bit longer. I would love to see it fully bloomed in sunshine.
Our jungle really makes me worry sometimes. Maybe it will take over our house, the ivy will grab us and tie us at the next tree... well, too much phantasy! That isn't good for the inner peace, isn't it. Sorry about that.
Back to beauty: a 1st May rose. We've got this garden since eleven years and I've never seen before a rose starting to bloom at the begin of May. That's crazy!
But rain has its beauty too.
And sometimes even snails are sweet to look at. I just ignore that leaf of clematis which it has just munched.
With this lovely bouquet of peonies I like to thank all of you for reading this blog and keeping it alive with your comments. I enjoy your visits and your kind words. After three years of blogging it is still fun. No, it's no blog birthday, I just liked to say thank you. :o)
Habt alle noch eine gute Woche.
Have all a good rest of the week.
Of course, she didn't say thank you to me...
