Rose Pat Austin is for me the epitome of September. Its soft orange stands for a colorful autumn and the incredible light during this time. What a pity, that I can't send you her fragrance through the screen.
The Hydrangea paniculata are the stars in my garden at the moment. I love how light and shadow appear playfully in its petals as well as in its leaves.
I had to wait for a long, long time until the white Dasiphora fruticosa showed me, how beautiful its flowers are. It was of course my fault, I planted it in a rather shady place. But last spring changed the condition by a late snowfall that caused some bad damage at the prunus cerasifera beside it. Bad luck for the tree, but good luck for the shrub. You can't have everything in life.
Rose hips. The birds are waiting for this delicious meal.
Unfortunately I forgot the name of this plant... gosh, I'm getting old. However, I'm very happy to have planted this beauty. The bees love it as well.
The fragrance of the rose White Fairy is spectacular and it's flowering until late fall, when weather conditions aren't that harsh.
Bam! That's a firework to my taste.
As mentioned before: Fall is a colorful time in the Gwundergarten.
After the late spring snowfall I believed this hydrangea dead. But luckily I left it and waited what will happen. And here we are again, with more flower than ever. Isn't it just gorgeous?
This bee must feel like on a blue cloud.
This is another hydrangea paniculata, named Vanille-Fraise, and it is the latest arrival in my garden. It stood all alone in a Supermarket, I really would have had a heart of stone to let it back there. Now it is in good company and ready to live happily ever after.
This fuchsia was neither planted nor seeded by me. It just claimed a place in my shady garden for itself, but who I am, to complain about it?
I really love September in my garden.
"Psst, Noah. Du musst doch nicht wirklich immer alles verraten."
"Yes, yes, we know that by now. Forget all this plant stuff and tell them, that you found me so irresistable, that you have cloned me."
"Psst, Noah. It was a secret. You are such a chatterbox, indeed!"
Okay, now that this fop has already spoiled everything, I can tell you more about it. I've asked Wonnie to make me a felt Noah and I can't wait to get this sweet little guy, which should already be on its way to the Gwundergarten. Wonnie is a real talented artist, who manages to give every creature so much heart and soul, but have a look by yourself on her blog.
Meanwhile the little guys in the tree get their beaks rather full.
"Yes, I know, Mr Nuthatch that you are different and rather humbly."
"Sie sind eine alte Petze, Frau Tannenmeise."
"Und sie tun immer so versnobt, Herr etepetete Kleber."
"Don't believe it, Mrs Gwundergarten. He only pretends to be so, but as soon as you have vanished with this black box in your hand, he shows his true face and takes everything for himself."
"You are such a crybaby, Mrs Coal Tit!"
"And you are a selfproud Flash Harry, Mr Nuthatch!"
While they were occupied by throwing bad words at each other, a little sparrow takes its chance.
And this one seems to be the hero in its shining armor.
Yes, sometimes the animals just make me stunning. But I love it, how much life is in our garden. There are so many creatures flying, crabbling, crawling, hopping, sneaking and sometimes even running away from Mrs Gwundergarten, that it is just a joy to watch.
And maybe that is the reason why our little lonely bunny seemed not be bored, since his lady has hopped over the rainbow. He does quite well, and luckyily, he didn't stop eating. One evening, I tried to introduce him to our tomcat, that was a bad mistake... for the tomcat. I was stunned to see, how quickly this little sweet guy turned into a fight machine and threw the cat out of its terrain within a second.
That's it, what a long report! I hope there is still anybody with me. Anyway, I wish you all a lovely Sunday and a good start into a new week.
Häbet Sorg! / Take care
