Sometimes my garden behaves worse than a child: "Bedtime. Come on, get yourself ready, it's time." - "Oh no, not yet? I'm not tired." Yes, that's exactly what I'm talking of. It's end of October and the roses don't care about it. They flower as if there was no end of summer.
I don't want to hear any wailing, when frost will torture your lovely petals, do you understand me?
Well, at least one has get rid off her clothes and is ready for the big sleep.
But seeing so much resistance, fall should be upset and look for a better place to be.
However, photos like this one, can only be taken during fall: Hydrangea Limelight flirting with rose Leonardo da Vinci.
And again only possible in autumn: The rose multiflora nearly plundered empty by the birds, while her big brother Rose Brother Cadfael is still in the spotlight.
Nobody is too tiny to be a photobomber. I indeed haven't noticed the little spider in the right corner.
And nobody is too small to be a rebel: This wild strawberry wants summer and not winter. Sorry, dear, it's not my fault.
And blue isn't the color of this season, Rozanne. Yellow, Red, Orange but not BLUE. Time to leave, honey.
As long as my relative, the Geranium Nodosum may stay, I won't leave neither.
Even when some are already wearing their winter hairdo, ...
... others don't care and turn up in their summer dress.
Okay, I confess that fall has moved into the Gwundergarten, as in every other garden in Switzerland. We can't change it, but honestly, I don't care. Because in fact, I do love autumn. At long last I can work again in the garden, without fear not getting back into the oxygen tent on time and end up as a drop of sweat, which will be dried out by the burning sun. At long last I don't have to carry around watering cans, until the ambulance has to carry me away. And then, all those colors...
The colors of the hydrangea Oakleaf are gorgeous and have a look at my newest arrival in the garden:
It's the Cotinus Coggygria "Smokey Joe". Well, little Joe has to smoke less and should grew quickly... at least I hope so :o). I'm really eager to see its flowers that should look like pink clouds. I hope Smokey Joe will be happy in my garden. We will see.
Unfortunately this belongs as well to autumn. To fill the first bags is real fun, but then it becomes harder and annoying. But I don't want one of those noisy leaf blowers, can't stand them in fact. Anyway, I'm not such a tidy gardener, that hedgehogs and Co can't find a place to stay for their hibernation. They have lots of hideaways.
I really love to see all those little creatures in our garden. We are not the only inhabitants in the Gwundergarten.
Some just come around to pick up their nuts, but others ...
... enjoy a little chat with friends at the buffet.
Sometimes they have a serious conversation.
After the morning toilet, it's time for a little sightseeing flight.
... and then maybe a new home can be found. By the way, the photos from the birds are made from my kitchen window. I could watch them forever, to be honest. It's so much fun.
Finally we got the garden ready to say nighty night and see you soon next spring.
Jetzt wünsche ich Euch allen einen guten Start in die etwas ruhigere Gartensaison.
And now I wish you all a good start into the calmer time of the year.
Alles Liebe / Take care
