We had hornets in our chimney. I mean, I really like those big insects, who are dressed like convicts, but why on earth couldn't they choose another place for their nest? If so, they could have stayed, but in the chimney they had to leave. However, look what they had created. Isn't that just fantastic and very artistically?
Yesterday evening my hubby, my tomcat and me were waiting for the lunar eclipse (probably like everybody else too). It's not every day that the moon plays hide and seek... well he could use a bit more practise ... but psst, don't tell him, that we can still see him.
Nope, that's another moon. The one in the pond, which is actually a solar light.
And here it is. The bleeding moon eclipse. It's a bit blurry because I was too lazy to use the tripod. Well, the next lunar eclipse will happen in about another hundred years, so why bothering?
The bees are busy on their own blue moon.
Gosh, my little monster seems to be dreaming of a vacation in Hawaii ... or has he just fallen in love with the Geranium Rozanne? Who knows, who knows?
I put some pot saucers, filled up with water, in the garden. In this drought the birds and other creatures are thankful for that. Lately I saw a little hedgehog enjoying a drink at this garden pub.
Not in use at the moment: our solar garden shower. The community had asked to handle carefully with water sources. Therefore I also stopped using the lawn sprinkler. Hope that rain will soon arrive.
But I won't stop watering the Hydrangeas. It would be a shame to loose them.
Aber alles hat Durst. Die Rosenblüten gehen auf und vertrocknen gleich wieder.
Everybody is thirsty and it is much too hot, especially for the roses on our hot terrace.
Nur dem Hibiscus mit den gefüllten Blüten gefällt es wie noch nie. Er blüht und blüht, es ist eine wahre Freude.
Only the hibiscus syriacus seems not to care. It is blooming so beautifully like never before.
Auch das weisse Beet macht Freude. An den Funkien im Vordergrund sieht man allerdings den Wassermangel. Sie sind normalerweise fast doppelt so gross.
The white border is as well a joy to look at. Only the hostas are smaller than in other years. They would need more water.
Today was the day to say goodbye to the bunny hatch. It needed four strong boys and one strong girl (not me), to get it out of the Gwundergarten onto the waiting tractor, which carried it to its new home. Thank you, that you kept my bunnies safe from the weather and predators for such a long time. I'm sure you will become happy again, as soon as you are allowed to welcome your new protégés.
And what are we doing now? Well, we will enjoy the weekend and I hope you will as well. Take care.
