Eine Fahrt ins Blaue / Just a trip

Anlässlich unseres Hochzeitstages haben mein Mann und ich eine Fahrt ins Blaue unternommen, begleitet wurden wir von strahlendem Sonnenschein. Ja, ja, wenn Engel reisen *kicher*.

Yesterday was my husband and mine wedding day. That was reason enough to use that sunny day for a trip into the green (well rather blue I should say).

Es zog uns an den Bodensee, genauer gesagt nach Salem zum Affenberg.

The destination was lake Bodensee, to be precise Salem where monkeys were kept in a pens.


Es gab aber nicht "nur" Affen zu sehen. Dieser stolze Kerl begrüsste uns gleich als erstes.

But there were not "only" monkeys to see. This proud guy welcomed us first.

Auf dem Gelende hat es zig Storchenhorste. Es war so schön anzusehen. In den meisten Nester sassen auch Junge, die liebevoll betütelt wurden.

On the site were lots of stork nests. It was so beautiful to look at. In most of the nest were young storks.
Und dann ging's zu diesen Jungs hier. Man erwartete uns schon...

And then we entered the monkey enclosure... we were already expected...

Nur wenn die Affen auf diesem Holzgeländer sassen, durften wir sie mit dem Gratisfutter (Popcorn) füttern. Nicht nur die Affen erstaunlicherweise auch Mensch hat sich daran gehalten. Es war übrigens verboten, die Affen ansonsten zu berühren oder zu streicheln. Es sind nach wie vor Wildtiere.

Only when monkeys were sitting on those wood railings one was allowed to give them something of the free food (popcorn). I was surprised to see that not only the monkeys but also the people followed that rule. By the way it wasn't allowed to touch or even to stroke those beautiful animals, they are still wild and that's good so.

Die Affen müssen sich auf diesem grossen Gelende wie im Paradies fühlen.

The monkeys must feel like in paradise in this big reserve.

Dieser kleine Pirat hatte eine Augenverletzung. Mit seinem Mittleidsbonus, den er gegenüber meinem Mann gnadenlos ausgespielt hat, hat er sämliches Popcorn von meinem Liebsten erhascht. Ja, ja, er hat den weichen Kern meines Mannes ebenso schnell durchschaut wie ich *grins*.

This little pirate had an eye injury. He used the pity compassion without a problem at my husband. He got every bit of popcorn from my loved one. Yes, yes, this little guy has recognized the soft core of my husband as quick as I did *smile*.



Viele waren aber ganz arg beschäftigt, so dass sie uns gar nicht wahrnahmen.

Some of them were that much occupied, that they didn't notice us at all.
Ja, ja, ich weiss... wir Zweibeiner sind manchmal zum Schreien komisch.

Yes I know... we with two legs are sometimes screamingly funny.

Mit diesem Patschehändchen hier wurde das Popcorn ganz sanft aus der Hand geklaubt. Aber damit...

With this sweet hand they softly grabbed the Popcorn out of our hands. But with this one...


...und damit...

... and that one...

...konnte man sowas machen.

... one could do such things.
Ja, da haben es andere einiges schwerer im Leben. Bei diesem jungen Taucherli (= Blässhuhn) kam mir sofort die Geschichte des hässlichen Entleins in den Sinn. Kennt Ihr die? Es war meine absolute Lieblingsgeschichte als Kind. Und noch heute liebe ich sie. Sie hat zwar jetzt überhaupt nichts mit Blässhühner, sondern mit Schwänen zu tun, aber irgendwie ist's trotzdem passend, findet Ihr nicht?

Others have a much harder life, like this little Eurasian Coot. It reminds me of the story of the ugly duckling. Do you know that wonderful story about an ugly duckling that get's at the end a wonderful swan? I loved it very much as a child and I still do it now. Well, it doesn't have anything to do with Eurasian Coot, but this little chicken reminds me on it anyway.


Diese kleine Schnecke ist aber nicht aus dem Affenberg geflohen, nöööö, die hat klein Alex mit ihrer Nähmaschine zustande gebracht. Es hat Spass gemacht und wird vermutlich nicht meine letzte Tilda-Nähattacke gewesen sein.

This little snail hasn't fled out of the monkey reserve. No, little Alex made it by herself with the sewing machine. It was great fun and it won't be the last Tilda I made.

Der gestrige Tag war Genuss pur. Eigentlich sollte man solche Ausflüge viel häufiger machen. In diesem Sinne... nutzet den Tag und geniesst das Leben.

Yesterday was so relaxing and it was just fun. One should do such trips more often. In this sense... carpe diem and enjoy your day!
