Today the post is about furniture. I believe all of you have your favorite pieces in your cozy homes. I show you now mine and Noahs.
This is one of my newer favorite pieces: a little kitchen cabinet. Not only recipe books, feeding bowls and Noahs feed is displaced their... no, this little cabinet has a secret. In its lowest drawer two feeding bowls for dogs are hidden. Well, it may be not that practical for dogs... if only you think at the splashes on the white wood... but for storing onions and garlic I find it rather practical.
Noahs favorite piece is at the moment the birdhouse. He observes it nearly day and night. But don't worry, the birds aren't that suicidal that they would ignore the red spot in front of their feeding station. And the little red guy hasn't got the idea yet to put on a camouflage fur :o).
The next pieces is one of my favorites again. This cupboard accompanies me since I left my home twenty two years ago. Since then I moved three times with it. I love furniture in wood, they look so cozy and warm. By the way it's no antique, it's from a cheap furniture store.
By the weather we've got at the moment, Noahs other favorite piece is the bed... especially when it is still warm from the human heater. Yes, a cat's life is really hard... who would like to change under such conditions :o).
This cozy chair has become one of my favorite pieces in this year. It reminds me on our wonderful holidays in Scotland. The cottage we lived in was furnished with a lot of pieces from the yellow-blue Swedish furniture store. I loved it very much, especially the sofas, which looked like my new chair and which proved to be very comfortable for stitching. I tell you one could cuddle up in it for days... if time would allow it.
This cushion I made for about three years. Yes, it's cross-stitched. For me stitching is like a puzzle game, I love to see how a picture is completed. This cushion became a favorite piece of mine, because one can dream so nicely on it in the garden deck chair. I know, I'm a bit a romantic auntie... but isn't life sober enough:o)?
This little goose I sewed yesterday. I need more practice before it is ready for the market stall... too many edges in it. But it was fun and I can already see a cackling flock of geese looking out for customers.
Advent.
Speaking on the lookout... look what I found in the garden yesterday. A cheeky Helleborus orientalis! I cut it all down in September and this is now the result. If you leave the foliage and cut it later in February they bloom as they should in February/March.
With this rather not X-mas like post I wish you a wonderful 2. advent, anyway.
En liebe Gruess / Take care
Alex
